Hi! Can y'all give me a list of jazz-fusion/smooth jazz saxophonists (i.e. Kenny G, etc) that made music in the 1980's?
I have one particular song in mind, it is in D minor, and it is done by a trumpter or saxophonist, who is a male, and his song sounds like pop fusion or smooth jazz. The song is supposed to have been done by someone with an "R" Last name or First name-I thought the name could be "Ronnie" or Rodney" or something, and the song got airplay on certain Smooth Jazz stations. He plays a high-pitched Sax; could be alto...)
Another is either of a Pop fusion/Smooth Jazz variety or New Age/Electronica variety.
It was a song in A minor. Had a fast tempo and the melody contained an electric, synthesized keyboard tone. It sounds like something like the group Dancing Fantasy or Colors In Motion.
Here is one of the 2-3 second WAV clips of the songs I am looking for...
1.CHECK 0:15 of the CLIP, there is the pop fusion/smooth jazz song in A minor, 2 or 3 sec. long. It is preceded by Black Box's "Ghost Box", the first clip of this WAV. The song could be from the early 90's...
2.This next one is the particular musician with a possible "R" name. CHECK 0:15 of the clip, it's a pop fusion song which features a very high-pitched sax (alto?) and is 2-3 sec. long. It precedes the band Everything But The Girl's "Missing".
I thought these clips may give a clue about the artists.
Thanks.
